The protection of your privacy rights is a matter of great importance to GDV. For this reason, we have developed our website according to the principle that data should only be collected if absolutely necessary. In this data privacy statement, we will notify you of the purposes for which personal data will be collected, processed and used when you visit this website.
Independently of legal requirements, we make the following commitments with regard to your personal data:
- we will collect your personal data only for defined and lawful purposes;
- we will not transmit your personal data unless necessary to accomplish the purpose;
- we will not keep personal data any longer than necessary; and

Collection of data when using our website
In theory, users can visit our website without disclosing personal data. Personal data is only collected to the extent technically necessary for use of our website or if you are using certain functions provided on our website. In this case, the collection of your personal data serves to enable the desired functions.
On this website, we use MyFonts Counter, a web analysis service of MyFonts Inc., 500 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn, MA 01801, USA. Based on the license terms, page view tracking is performed in which the number of visits to the website is counted for statistical purposes and transmitted to MyFonts. MyFonts only collects anonymized data. Data may be transmitted by activating Java Script code in your browser. To prevent MyFonts from executing Java Script code entirely, you can install a Java Script blocker (e.g. www.noscript.net). Further information about MyFonts Counter can be found in the MyFonts data privacy statement at http://www.myfonts.com/info/terms-and-conditions/#Privacy
Google Analytics, Cookies
When you visit our website, information is stored for statistical purposes in order to optimize our website and make it more attractive. Anonymized data only (e.g. anonymized IP addresses, the date and time the page was viewed, the length of your stay or the page from which you came to our website) is stored and used on our server using Google Analytics technology. This information does not enable identification of visitors to this website. IP addresses are anonymized before they are stored. This means that Google will anonymize your IP address while the data is still within member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the US and anonymized there. The IP address which is transmitted by your browser will not be brought into contact with other data stored by Google.
"Cookies" are also used. Cookies are small text files which are stored locally in the buffer memory of the page visitor's internet browser. Cookies allow the website to recognize the internet browser. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. Google will use this information at our behest to analyze your use of our website, to compile reports about your activities within this website and to provide us with additional services associated with use of this website and internet use. Anonymous user profiles may be generated from the processed data.
You have the option of preventing cookies from being stored on your computer by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser. You can also prevent Google from collecting data generated by the cookie relating to your use of our website and from processing this data on all websites by downloading and installing a browser add-on provided by Google.
If you visit our website with a mobile device, please use the following link: Deactivate Google Analytics. Clicking this link places an opt-our cookie which will prevent Google from collecting your data on this website in the future. Please note that you will have to click the link again if you delete the cookie from your mobile device or if you wish to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data for this website on another device. The opt-out cookie does not prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on other websites.
More information about Google Analytics can be found in Google's data privacy statement, which can be viewed here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html.
DoubleClick by Google
Data will not be transmitted by Google to third parties except as required by law or for commissioned data processing. Under no circumstances will Google bring your data into contact with other data collected by Google.
By using our website, you consent to Google's processing of the data collected about you, to the manner of data processing described above and to the stated purpose. You may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, we would point out that, in this case, you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website and from processing this data by downloading and installing the DoubleClick deactivation extension which is available as a browser plugin at the following link. Alternatively, you can deactivate DoubleClick cookies on the Digital Advertising Alliance website.
Personal data (names, addresses, e-mail addresses) will only be collected and processed for the purpose of processing orders, e.g. of GDV publications, or individual inquiries. In order to send out publications, it may be necessary to communicate your address data to companies which assist us in this regard. Otherwise, we will only communicate your personal data in exceptional situations in which a public authority is entitled to request your data e.g. for purposes of law enforcement or to avert dangers. Once your matter has been fully processed, your data will be restricted and, upon expiration of the recordkeeping periods in tax and commercial law, deleted.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, the information which is collected in the subscription process will be used only to send out the newsletter. We also record the e-mail address from which the newsletter is opened and links are clicked. We analyze this data for statistical purposes in order to optimize our newsletter. The data is deleted once the statistical analysis is completed. We use the "double opt-in" method in sending out the newsletter. We will only send you a newsletter if you confirm that you would like to activate the newsletter service by clicking a link in our notification e-mail. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you may unsubscribe at any time. Notification in text form is sufficient for this purpose (e.g. e-mail to email@example.com, fax, letter). Of course, an unsubscribe link can also be found in each newsletter.
